You are the light of MESROB** and HAIG's*** torch,
You are the first lightening on this shore.
You are a triumphant power that ever flows
Toward the fulfillment of our will and hopes.

You are the response of the noble call,
Of the spirits of ARMENS**** all,
And also the navigator for
The dreams of your soldiers' holy cause.

O temple of light, we do adore you,
Our NAIRIAN***** cradle is indeed you.
You will surely remain the proud FERRAHIAN
To all those grateful living souls.

** MESROB refers to Mesrob Mashtots, the founder of the Armenian Alphabets in 351 A.D.

*** HAIG refers to Haig Nahabet, also known as the father of the Armenians. In fact HAI or HYE is derived from his name HAIG and which means Armenian.

****ARMENS refers to the children of ARMEN, i.e. Armenians.

***** NAIRIAN refers to the land of NAIRI which also stands for Armenian.
